Master Electric Company History
Master Electric Supply was founded in 1936 by the late Chester Zambardo and is now owned and operated by Tom Zambardo. Originally started as a contracting business in 1923, the retail store was opened at 2873 Fairfield Avenue, Bridgeport, selling appliances. The store was located in the front of the building and Chester and his wife, Betty, lived in the rear. Primo Zambardo owned the business from1972 until his passing in 2004. Primo often would travel door to door delivering flyers and collecting weekly installment payments from the customers.

| During the depression and war years, the Zambardos sold toasters, irons, Christmas lights, gift items and anything else to survive in the era's economy. After World War II, they expanded more into electrical supply and lighting and moved into a larger location on Pine Street in Bridgeport in 1950 when a showroom was added. |

In 1972, Primo purchased the business from Chester and a larger warehouse and sales area were added. In 1984, the company moved to it's present location on Commerce Drive in Fairfield.

Master Electric still retains it's family style philosophy of superior service and product expertise, serving contractors, homeowners, businesses, factories, institutions and municipalities. The average tenure for the sales people is well over 10 years and several employees have been with the company for over 20 years. Sadly, Primo Zambardo passed away in 2004. His son Tom continues the tradition of Primo's integrity and service.
